Designed for all the family in mind, this home features multiple living areas inspired by the principles of entertainment, connection, and soothing aesthetics. To ensure an abundance of sunlight throughout the home, the over-sized windows were adorned with ample double-glazing whilst offering a serene outlook of treetops and greenery beyond.Mt Taylor Drive is a collection of three homes positioned along the ridgeline between Glendowie and St Heliers. Rather than approaching the site as a repetitive residential development, the project explores how a small group of homes can share a common architectural language while retaining their own identity and relationship with the landscape.
The natural topography became the primary organising element for the design. Each home is anchored by a concrete podium that follows the existing landform, allowing the buildings to step comfortably across the site rather than imposing a singular platform. This approach reduces the visual scale of the development while strengthening its connection to the landscape. Carefully considered planting further softens the architecture, allowing the built form to emerge from the site rather than dominate it.
